News from Year Si

The Grade 6 class have been busy preparing for their final weeks of school. Students have been putting together a slide presentation for Graduation, rummaging through the (hundreds!) of photos of all their experiences at St Joseph's school. They have also been recording videos of each other, talking about their favourite memories, including numerous excursions, camps, sports days and learning experiences. This presentation will be shown at the Graduation night next Thursday. They will also be showing the younger students during the week.

Another aspect the students have been working on is a letter to their buddies. Students have written some 'advice' to their grade one buddies, that they will be sharing with these students next week.

~ I can’t believe I’m about to finish school and leave you. Thank you for being such a great buddy. I have had a lot of fun at St Joseph's so I thought I’d give you my best tips.

~ Firstly and most importantly, try everything. Trying new things is one of the main ways to have fun memories to look back on. Go on every excursion you can, especially ⅚ trips - they are where you have the most fun.

~ Try not to get in trouble and always listen to the teacher. Give everything a chance. Don’t give up and don’t let fears overcome you, ever.

~ You should never let anxiety overcome you in camp or excursions because I did and I regret it because I missed out on a lot. You should try to at least overcome your fears.
