TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, friends, and welcome to Week 5.

This week has flown past, and we are getting very excited for the upcoming school holidays. Week 9’s theme this week was Springtime. The weather this week has been amazing, and we have been able to use this to our advantage every afternoon. Early in the week, we created cherry blossom trees. The children loved this activity and we saw so much creativity with the use of different colours to create the cherry blossom trees. This week we have also tried to do crafts outside while the weather has been so nice. This week we did an origami circle where we got the children to create cool origami creations. We have also tried to bring chalk out each day this week as the children love to create amazing creations outside with each other.

As previously mentioned, we have some new staff at TheirCare. We welcome Angie who is taking over Ashleigh’s position, as Ashleigh is our new co-ordinator. The children have loved having a new person to play with and we are excited to have Angie with us every day. We also welcome Jicinta, who has transferred from Footscray Primary Their Care. We are very happy to have so many new faces and are looking forward to all working together.

This week’s Pupil of the Week for Their Care is Claire Satzke. For always cares for others and makes sure everyone is okay, especially if she knows they are hurt.

Well done, Claire you should be proud!! 😊😊

How are holidays only a week and a half away? With holidays fast approaching we are getting very excited for a whole two weeks of science fun. During the holidays we have three massive excursions that include: Movies, Bounce, and even a footy fever carnival held at Altona Primary School. We also have so many cool incursions booked, one day even seeing us make SLIME!

Friday last week we were lucky enough to put on a Father’s Day BBQ for the Footscray West Primary School community. The BBQ was very successful with over 200 sausages enjoyed. Children and parents also loved the fruit kebabs and there was nothing left, which was a very good sign! On Friday we sadly said goodbye to Louise as she had decided to move back to Frankston. We will miss Louise and we wish her the best and hopefully she will pop in to visit when she's next in Melbourne.
