Principal Reflections

Dear Parents and Carers,
Supporting Early Literacy Across Our Community
We are very proud of Mrs Emily Press who has continued some wonderful work in her role as a Parent Ambassador for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL).
Working alongside UNE Early Childhood Literacy Lecturer, Beth Boland, Emily visited six Early Childhood Centres and engaged more than 250 children in fun, interactive literacy experiences based around the DPIL book My Pet Star. Through reading, music, drama, maths and craft, the sessions aimed to build children’s excitement about books and develop a love of reading before they begin school.
Mrs Press' work also attracted further attention, being interviewed on the radioabout DPIL and early literacy. We are incredibly proud of the important work Emily is doing for children and families across Tamworth, while also representing St Edward’s so wonderfully well in our wider community.
Until next week,
Keep smiling,
Alison Hatton
