PRAYER

Hail Mary,

Full of Grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God, pray for us sinners now,

and at the hour of our death.

Amen

From the Principal

Dear Families,

During our recent school closure day, we focused on the Child Safe Standards that have been designed to help keep students safe and what schools are doing to prioritise this. At St Philip’s, our commitment is to ensure that we provide an inclusive and protective learning environment where every child can feel safe, be safe, and flourish.

There are 11 Child Safe Standards, and Standard #4 focuses on what parents and families can do at home to contribute to their child/ren’s learning about child safety including:

  • having regular open conversations about what safety feels like for them and how they feel when they are at school or other places away from home, and
  • ensuring they know they have trusted adults they can speak to if they are concerned, and making sure they know who these adults are.

Parents and family members are also encouraged to share their perspective by contacting the school with any ideas or thoughts that will help everyone to keep children safe.

Safety in Car Park

You may be aware that there was an accident in the car park on Friday. While the driver of the vehicle received only a minor injury, fortunately no one else was hurt. Incidents such as this are reminders of the need to maintain high vigilance and awareness of safety while pedestrians and vehicles are constantly moving in, around and out of car parks.

We are fortunate to have the kerbside area in the front of the school where children can be dropped off or picked up and avoid the need to walk through the car park and I encourage parents and carers to take advantage of this arrangement whenever possible.

Student Representative Council

Two students from each grade have been elected as student representatives for our Student Reprsentative Council (SRC) for 2026. Congratulations to Angela B, Mateo, Teddy, Christopher, Francis, and Aria. The SRC members will contribute his/her own ideas about matters that may improve conditions or outcomes for students and for the school. They will also report and reflect on concerns or ideas raised by their peers.

Art Show

Our students are continuing to express their creativity during their art lessons creating masterpieces that will be exhibited during our biennial Art Show on Wednesday 16 September. Further information will be provided but please put this date in your diaries.

Warm regards,

Michelle Worcester
