Principal's Report

Welcome to Term 4!
Welcome back to the final term of the year! We hope all our students, staff and families had a restful and enjoyable holiday break. Over the holidays, our Unit 3/4 students dedicated time to sitting their practice exams, demonstrating commitment and preparation as they approach the final weeks of their studies.
Term 4 is always an exciting and busy period, with many celebrations, events and milestones ahead. We look forward to supporting our students as they finish the year strongly, and we encourage them to draw on the skills, resilience and habits they have developed throughout 2025.
Farewell Class of 2025
It has been a wonderful week celebrating the Class of 2025 with a range of activities, leading up to tomorrow’s special events: a Year 12 breakfast with families, whole-school assembly, and our cherished traditions, including the signing of uniforms. We sincerely thank the Yearbook Committee for their dedication in producing such a beautiful keepsake. The celebrations will culminate in the evening with the official Graduation ceremony at the MCG.
While the Class of 2025 will be greatly missed, they will always belong at Beaumaris. We wish them every success in their future endeavours and encourage them to draw on all they have learned, including recent guidance from Sonya Karras on safe choices for life beyond school.
We also extend our best wishes to Year 12 students for their exams and to Year 11 students completing Unit 3/4 subjects.
Steve Pearce Senior Centre
We were delighted to celebrate the official naming of the Steve Pearce Senior Centre on Tuesday 16 September. The plaque and signage mark this special and significant milestone.
This Senior Centre is named in honour of Steve Pearce, our foundation School Council President. Steve’s vision, passion and tireless efforts were instrumental in establishing a standalone co-educational government secondary school in Beaumaris in 2018. His dedication to securing approval and funding for the Stage 2 building, which opened in 2022, laid the foundation for the college as it stands today.
This naming recognises Steve’s outstanding contribution to the college and the lasting impact of his leadership on our school community.
Visible Wellbeing Accreditation
We’re thrilled that Beaumaris Secondary College has been formally accredited as a Visible Wellbeing Program School. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing student and staff wellbeing and embedding wellbeing practices across all aspects of learning and community life. During GOAL, students and staff explore the Visible Wellbeing SEARCH Framework to integrate learning and wellbeing in practical ways.
It was wonderful to receive the following recognition from the Visible Wellbeing team on our social media post.
Year 9 Market Day
We extend our thanks to Fernando Pablo and the Innovate team for organising a fantastic Market Day last week. Year 9 students showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial skills through a variety of stalls and activities, engaging the whole school community. It was wonderful to see students from all year levels get involved while supporting charities and non-profits selected by our students.
VCE Media, Art & Design Exhibition
Congratulations to our students and the Create team for the brilliant MAD Media, Art and Design Expo held last week! I was bursting with pride at the creativity of our emerging artists, designers and creators. Parents of Year 12 and 11 students were equally impressed, praising the guidance of our teaching team.
Events like the MAD Expo showcase the incredible skills of our students and the collaborative spirit of our school community. Well done to everyone involved!
Regional Athletics
Well done to our talented athletes who showcased their skills at last week’s Regional Athletics. Congratulations to all students progressing to the state level. For a complete list of results, please check Our Latest Facebook/Instagram Posts page of this newsletter.
Congratulations Vlad, Elise & Indiia
We are delighted to congratulate Vlad, Elise and Indiia, who were recognised at the inaugural BGKLLEN Awards Evening as nominees for VCE VM Student of the Year. Vlad also received the Excellence in Applied Learning award. This is a wonderful acknowledgment of their dedication and hard work.
Year 10 Safe Partying Workshop
As our Year 10 students look ahead to the next stage of their journey, it’s important they are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make safe and respectful choices. Last week, students attended an engaging session with youth advocate Sonya Karras, who also presented to our Year 12 students recently. Sonya shared practical advice on safe partying, and understanding consent. With warmth, humour, and real-life stories, she helped make these essential topics both relatable and memorable, supporting our students to look out for themselves and each other.
Community Connections
At the end of Term 3, our Year 10 students once again supported the Better Health Network by running football drills and activities for the Adult Community Options Disability Day Program—continuing this wonderful tradition for the fourth year.
Our Year 11 VCE VM students welcomed their mentors from the Bayside City Council Community Intergenerational Connections Program for a tour of the college. This program provides a valuable opportunity for students and mentors to learn from one another—you can read more on the dedicated newsletter page.
Finally, congratulations to all students and staff who took part in Connor’s Run on Sunday 14 September to support kids with brain cancer, including Phoebe M (Year 10), who raised $1,516!
School for Student Leadership
Last Sunday, three of our Year 9 students—William A, Lucas G and Tjekhan W—began their nine-week journey at the School for Student Leadership’s Snowy River Campus. Over the coming weeks, they will develop and strengthen their leadership skills. We wish them every success in this exciting opportunity and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return.
Staffing Update
We are pleased to welcome back Aimee Blackman, Lachlan Murie and Lucca Parkinson. We also extend a warm welcome to Hayley Bracciale, who has joined our team as a Mathematics teacher.
