SSA 12 YEARS & UNDER GIRLS AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Huge congratulations to Isabella A (6RM) who recently represented Team Vic at the SSA 12 Years & Under Girls Australian Football Championships in Canberra!

Bella and her Team Vic teammates claimed the Silver Medal after finishing runners-up. It was an incredibly successful campaign, with Team Vic remaining undefeated until their final match against the eventual champions, South Australia.

Bella was instrumental throughout the carnival, often proving to be a wall in the backline and springboarding her team from defence into attack. And she did it all against the best players in the country, confirming what we all already knew - Bella belongs at this level!

What an incredible achievement, Bella - we’re all so proud of you! We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

💪🏼

FOOTY DAY - FRIDAY 11th SEPTEMBER

As shared recently, Isabella A (6RM) and Grace P (6SM) have both achieved the incredible honour of being selected in Team Vic squads, with Isabella selected for Australian Football and Grace for Basketball.

Representing Team Vic is a fantastic achievement and comes with significant costs for families, as participation is self-funded. Expenses can reach several thousand dollars and include host state and administrative levies, uniforms, training and team equipment, transport, accommodation and meals.

To help support Isabella and Grace and their families with their fundraising, we will be holding our annual Footy Day on Friday 11th September.

For a gold coin donation, students are invited to come dressed in their favourite team colours. Throughout the day, our Year 6 Leaders will run a range of fun footy rotations for students to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing our school community getting behind Isabella and Grace and helping celebrate their fantastic achievements!

Congratulations to Sage C (1KO) and her cheer team, who took part in their first competition, the CheerCon State Championships, on the weekend and placed first in their division! They also hit zero - that’s no deductions for faults in the cheer world!

It was a huge event with lots of eyes on them, but they took to the stage with such confidence that you would never have known it was their first competition. What an incredible debut!

Well done, Sage! 🥇

Congratulations to Arlo C (6LB) who had an outstanding run at the State Cross Country Championships, finishing 13th and topping his team. His team also finished an impressive 2nd overall!

Well done, Arlo! 💪🏼

If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.

Thank you,

Jordan Daley

Running for Red Nose ❤️

Hi Greenhills Community,

This August, I’m running at least 3km every day to raise money for Red Nose, in honour of a close friend’s daughter, Izzy.

Every Thursday at lunchtime, I’ll be running laps of the Tiger Turf, and students are welcome to join me for as many laps as they like.

Red Nose Day is Thursday 27 August. Students are invited to wear red, bring a gold coin donation and join me for my final run at school.

Thank you kindly for your support,

Mr Hick
