From the Principal

St Justin’s Primary School acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which our school stands.

We pay our respects to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and their elders past and present, and emerging as we continue to proudly live and learn on their land.

St Justin's Primary School - Celebrating over 40 years of Catholic Education

Dear Families and Friends,

It has been another very BIG week at St Justin's with many great events taking place.

Please read on to find out all about our week 9. Please be mindful that there is more than 1 page to our newsletter - click on the arrows at the top.

It is hard to believe there is only 1 week left of Term 1!

Palm Sunday - Sunday 29th March

This Sunday is a special day in the Church calendar - the celebration of Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week when we remember the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

Dear God,

We thank you for sending us your Son, Jesus.

Help us to welcome others into our lives just as the crowd welcomed Jesus.

Help us to see that sometimes what we want may not be God’s plan

just like the expectations of the crowd.

Help us to be the best followers of Jesus that we can be.

Amen.

Stations of the Cross

On Wednesday 1st April we will gather as a school community for the Stations of the Cross to remember and reflect on the journey of Jesus during His final hours. This special time invites us to pause, pray, and think about the meaning of His sacrifice and the love He showed for others.

Parents and carers are most welcome to join us in the church at 2.35pm for the Stations Of The Cross. They will be led by our Year 5 students.

By coming together, we deepen our understanding of the Easter story and are encouraged to show compassion, kindness, and forgiveness in our own lives. It is also an opportunity for us to unite in faith, supporting one another as a community.

Working Bee

Gallery Image

Thanks to those who were able to attend our working bee last Saturday. With determindation and hard work, we achieved lots. We added softfall to the senior school adventure playground, repainted markers around the school, added mulch to the garden beds, cleaned up around the compost heaps and removed logs from along the back fence. More importantly, we had time to catch up and have something to eat and a drink - a great day out.

Thanks to Leon, Lear, Alfie, Andreas, Connie, Arthur, Lewis, Billy, Dimtries, James, John, Tilly, Roberto, Helen, Jen, Tammy, Aria, Mia, Leo, Peter, Sally, Adam, Tony (pre workng bee worker) and any others we may have missed.

Working bees are not just about getting things done, it's about opportunities for the community to come together - thanks everyone for your amazing support. we will have another working bee next term - keep an eye out for the date.

Open Day

Thanks to all who were able to help with our Open Day. Visitors were very impressed with:

  • Our confident, articulate Year 6 leaders who conducted tours throughout the day and to the students for staying back after school last night
  • Our beautifully presented school, including the grounds and clean, open and bright classrooms
  • Our calm and engaged students
  • Our friendly staff and parent helpers
  • Pretty much everything really.

Thanks again to everyone for your amazing support. We know that such a feel cannot be created for one day; it's something that we continue to build on every day. We are very blessed.

Project Compassion

We are continuing to raise money for Project Compassion and have seen a significant increase in donations over the past two weeks, well done, St Justin’s! It has been wonderful to see more classes getting involved, especially our Year 6 classes.

A special congratulations to Year 2DW, who are still leading the way with a total of $112.50, followed by Prep LI with $96.45. In third place is Year 6DB with $78.30, closely followed by Year 6SL with $72.60.

At the end of Week 9, our school total has grown from $187.80 to an impressive $821.10, an outstanding effort by our whole community in supporting such a worthy cause.

We now have just four days remaining to donate, with all contributions due by Thursday 2nd April. Let’s keep the momentum going and see how much we can raise by the end of Term 1.

A big thank you to our RE Captains, Social Justice Leaders and Mini Vinnies Leaders for their enthusiasm and support in promoting this initiative across the school.

Thank you for your generosity.

Visitors to school

Gallery Image

A reminder that all visitors must report to the school office before entering any other areas of the school premises.

We also take the opportunity to remind parents, grandparents and carers that they are not to talk to students through the school fence when the children are playing outside.

This ensures a safe and secure environment for everyone on the school premises and ensures that all persons are reporting to the office as per our policy and procedures around visitors to our school.

School Safety

As we work to create a safe environment for us all, a reminder to parents that supervision of students commences at 8:40 am and concludes at 3:45 pm. If any child needs supervision outside of these times, please contact MACSEYE. Whilst we would never leave a child unattended, I would hate a child to be left at school or arrive early and there is no one here. Please also note that side gates into the school will be locked at 9.30am and unlocked at 3.00pm. If you are running late, please enter via the school office and sign your child in. All visitors to the school must enter via the school office.  We appreciate your support with this matter.
