E-Scooter Safety

Victoria Police are urging e-scooter owners to stay safe and understand the legal responsibilities that come with riding them. 

Some of the key road rules for e-scooters:

• E-scooters must not be ridden by any person under 16 years of age

• E-scooters must not be ridden at a speed exceeding 20km/h

• E-scooters must not be ridden on footpaths

• E-scooters must not carry more than one person

• Did you know you can be breath tested riding an e-scooter

Police also highlight that insurance may not cover incidents if road rules are breached, reinforcing the need for awareness and compliance among all users.
