TERM 4: 2025 Week 9-10: reminders and critical messages
How could we start with anything but a huge congratulations and thank you to anyone who was involved in the fete last Friday. We are yet to get a final fundraising amount, but more than anything, it was just so wonderful to see smiles and laughter all around.
We truly appreciate the many and varied ways in which everyone got involved - whether this was a member of the WPA, a sponsor, the musical performance or simply being a participant!
We look forward to what will undoubtedly be a busy final weeks of the school year - there is certainly plenty going on! Please see below for a number of important messages.

Prep - 2 Mini Aths: It was with dissapointment that we decided to cancel the Mini Aths event (again). Unfortunately Victoria's weather has not been kind to us, and potentially needing to call a cancellation on the morning felt unhelpful to families, as well as unfair to the children. Laura will continue to run Mini Athletics-style activities during her upcoming PE lessons so students can still experience the excitement of the activities that were planned.
Whole School Transition Dates: Wednesday December 3rd: Step Up Session at 2:30pm (1hr only)
During this session, your child will travel with their current grade up a level, to visit an exisiting classroom and teacher from the year level above. The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of information and a sense of familiarity, as well as provide opportunity for a Q&A.
Whole School Transition Dates: Tuesday Decemeber 9th: Whole School Step Up Day at 9:30pm
On this morning, your child will be informed of their 2026 classroom location and teacher, as well as learn which other students will be in a class with them. Students then transition to their new classroom from 9:30am, and spend the next 3 sessions with their new teacher.
Activites largely focus on, 'getting to know you' tasks, but also include other activities that support their intitial first few days of the new school year, such as: making name tags, taking photos ready for classroom displays - as well as engaging in a short writing tasks or maths games.
Year 6 students are often at their own step-up days outside of Wembly, as they embark on their Year 7 transition. For students whose transition days do not align, Tuesday remains a school day and provisions are made for these students.
2026 Prep Transition: Session 2 - Wednesday 3rd December

No uniform required
Next Dates:
Tuesday 9th December, 5:00pm - 6:30pm - Prep Family Gathering
2026 Classroom Teacher Allocations: Whilst students will be informed of their own 2026 teacher next Tuesday, we will share our overal staff list in the final newsletter of the term in Week 11.
2025 End of Year Celebrations: Class Parties
Information will be shared, directly from classroom teachers - watch this space for your child's specific grade arrangements. Parties will be held in Week 11 on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th, OR Friday 20th.
Gift giving, or alternate options (such as charity donations) will be determined as a collaborative team - ie: the same decision will apply to all grades within the cohort. However, individual students may still opt-out, if the proposed idea does not align with your families values/views.
End of Semester Reports: Your child's EOSR will be published on the Sentral Parent Portal on Wednesday 17th December - Week 11. These reports will provide a learner comment and a teacher judgement score, against the Victorian Curriculum. An explanatory narrative is also shared with this report that will help you interrpret the reporting information.
Year 6 Events: Information is being shared via Sentral for the various events, in particular: Graduation and the Disco.
Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher, or the front office should you wish to clarify any details.
Canteen: The canteen is closed today as the Operations Manager unintentionally closed the app, so lunches could not be ordered at all. This is being attended to and should be back up & running for tomororw - we apologise for any inconvenience.
