COUNT DOWN IS ON- 9 SLEEPS TO GO!

Our huge 30th Birthday Spring Fair celebration is fast approaching, and all eyes are on the long-range weather forecasts! So far so good with a prediction of 20 degrees and sunny for Saturday the 7th! Fingers and toes crossed!

Our Spring Fair is a key event in building and celebrating our community and bringing past, present, and future community together whilst also raising essential funds for improvements to our school resources and facilities that would otherwise not be possible.

This year as you would undoubtedly know is our 30th Birthday celebration to commemorate the opening of the Warranwood PS in Term 2 1996 after relocating from the small rural setting in South Warrandyte where the school served the community for over 100 years facing massive bushfires and being burned down to the ground and rebuilt by the community.

We welcome you to come along on Saturday the 7th of November to join in the fun of the fair. On the day there will be a wide range of exciting and thrilling rides for the dare devils or fun amusements for the younger folk wanting fun without the dare! Meet the pet farm animals, dance in the silent disco or try your luck at the much-loved Chocolate Toss or secire a sort after show bag! Be sure to come along to be entertained by our students in the talent show or enjoy the afternoon/evening performances from much loved Becc and the Cover Band.

Of course there will be plants for sale, silent auction items, raffles and a wide range of hot foods; including inviting café treats and drinks to purchase to keep you charged and active. No Warranwood Spring Fair would be complete without a visit to our world-famous wine tent and opportunity to meet current and past friends over a relaxed beverage. Be sure to last the journey and get to the huge finale at 8.45pm with a FIREWORKS spectacular on the oval that will be unforgettable!

It is essential to note that none of these SPRING FAIR experiences and services just happen and I would love to take the chance to acknowledge our incredible Spring Fair Planning Team;  Lidia, Annaliese, Katie, Kendal, Penny, Claire, Danni, Robyn, Sarah, Meaghan, Matt, Sue, and Victoria. The work, collaboration, problem solving and commitment this team have brought to the planning and preparations has been exemplary. We are very lucky to have you team.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

How can you help and do your bit to support the day run smoothly?

We really need you to sign up to the class stalls and help with the effective running of the stalls. Parents, grandparents or even adult siblings are welcome to sign up using the schedules shared.  Currently we urgently need more support and volunteers with the BBQ cooking and also serving in the canteen after 5pm. The wine tent is also still needing support with more servers. Please find a way sign up and join us and ensure the day is a huge success.

WORLD TEACHERS DAY- THANK YOU TO OUR WARRNAWOOD TEACHERS

Tomorrow, Friday 30th October, is a special day to celebrate and appreciate teachers around the World, particularly here at Warranwood PS. I would sincerely like to take this chance to acknowledge our Warranwood PS teachers for their wonderful dedication and commitment they bring every day to our students and school community.

I am privileged to work with such a collaborative and caring team of educators who always without argument go beyond to ensure our students are provided with an experience far greater than just the norm and what is required in their job description. A commitment to camps, excursions, sports events, special experiences like productions and Art Shows or Japanese tours and performances, our Warranwood teachers go above and beyond to make a difference. It can be easy to take these experiences for granted as they have always been on offer, however as principal I am so, so, proud of our continued delivery of these types of important and heartening events that are no longer possible in many schools due to new and changed industrial environments we now face.

Have a great day teachers, and please enjoy a coffee/ hot choccy on us with Jo and Johnny Friday morning at the SLOW LANE COFFEE VAN as a little token of appreciation and enjoy our special morning tea at recess in your honour.

Welcome to our Newest Community members for 2027

Today we held our 2nd Prep Transition Session for our new Preppies. They looked so smart in their Warranwood Prep 2027 T-shirts and settled in brilliantly to a morning of fun activities and meeting new friends. Mums and dads also took the chance to have a coffee or cup of tea with fellow new parents making new friends also. Thanks to FoW team members: Emma, Danni and Katie who managed to join us and share about the important role of Friends of Warranwood and the essential experiences and events they bring to our students and community to enrich the school and raise funds for shared projects.

Our Preppies have another 2 transition sessions to come culminating in meeting their teacher, classmates and event their Year 5 Buddy for next year.

Welcome Home 2026 Branch Out Tourists

Sunday morning at 8.30am our weary travellers arrived back at Tullarmarine to the excitement of family members after 2 weeks of a jam-packed tour of Japan. The experience had our tourists visiting our Sister School at Lilyvale Academy in Mito going to school each day as a Japanese student and then a 7 day exploration tour of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka including a visit to MT Fuji. The incredible experiences and memories will last a lifetime and friendships made will encourage further travel and connection. I would like to say a huge thank you to the students for their courage and excellent roles as ambassadors for our school and country throughout the trip and especially to the kids parents for showing such faith and trust in the tour experience. Lastly a heartfelt thank you to Dee Sensai and Tamryn Sensai along with our partners at Kalinda, Shaun Sensai, Hiromi Sensai and Jess Sensai. You have ensured such a rich and meaningful cultural experience for our students with your great skill and dedication.
