Building Resilience Together: Upcoming Parent Session with Real Schools Expert Jemma Rust

We are excited to announce that on 24 June, Eglinton Public School will welcome Jemma Rust, our Real Schools expert facilitator, for a special parent session focused on building resilience in children.

Two sessions will be available: one at 2:45pm and another in the evening at 5:45pm.

As a proud Real Schools partner, we know that resilience is not just a buzzword—it is a vital skill that helps our students navigate everything from daily routines to playground disagreements. Sometimes, a simple change in teacher or a disagreement with a friend can feel overwhelming for a young person. Our goal is to help children face these moments with confidence, flexibility, and kindness.

Jemma’s session will offer practical strategies for parents to support resilience at home, as well as ways to encourage positive conflict resolution. We want our children to see challenges not as setbacks, but as opportunities to learn and grow. When students learn to adapt to change or work through a conflict with a peer, they are not just solving a problem—they are developing lifelong skills.

We invite all parents and carers to join us for this valuable session. Together, we can help our children become more resilient, resourceful, and ready for whatever comes their way.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the school office. We look forward to seeing you there!

Stage 2 Athletics preparation

A big thank you to Jason Smart and members from our local Little Athletics club. They have provided our students with the opportunity for some expert coaching in various track and field events.

One of the coaches was Tiffany Auvaa - the current National Champion in Hammer Throwing. Her PB in that event is 48m! While her Shot Put PB is13.5m. Some amazing results and we are so grateful to all the coaches for providing our students with expert guidance and some great motivation.
