Physical Education

Hi Families,
Week 6 and we have achieved so much already!!
Term 3 Dates for the calendar:
Monday 7th September - District Athletics Day (students selected for SJV team)
Regional Netball 🏐
When we went to regionals netball we made it to the semi-finals and unfortunately lost by a goal but no matter the score we gave our all and tried our very best and we had such a great day, it was so much fun! We got to play for third place but we also lost that then and ended up coming fourth place. We were upset about it but knew that we tried as hard as we could and were proud of ourselves for making it to regionals and coming fourth in the region. Overall the day was so much fun playing netball together as a team and we will miss it when we go to high school next year. - Tess

Year 4-6 House Athletics Trials
On Friday the 31st of July, St James went to Box Hill Athletics track for the year 4-6 school trials. Its was so fun and great to see everyone participating and having a great time. It was a very successful day earning house points for your house and trying your hardest to get in an event and represent St James at District Athletics against other schools. The team spirit, loud cheering, and endless energy made the whole day unforgettable. Huge congratulations to everyone who participated, showed good sportsmanship and gave it their absolute all in every single race and field event. A massive thank you goes out to the teachers and parent volunteers who organised the schedules, timed the races, and kept the day running smoothly. Your hard work behind the scenes made this amazing day possible. Best of luck to the athletes who qualified to represent St. James at the upcoming district day. - Georgia (Sport Captain)

House Spirit Week
Hello Families,
This week is one of the best weeks of the whole year—House Spirit Week!
House Spirit Week is all about coming together, having fun, and getting to know the people in your house even better. Whether you represent Durkin (Red), Dillon (Blue), Lyons (Green), or Coghlan (Yellow), this is your time to show us what your house is made of.
Starting on Monday, you can add a touch of house colour to your school uniform every day. You can wear a coloured ribbon in your hair, some bright house socks, a scrunchie, a wristband for example. Let’s see which house can fill the school with the most colour!
We have an awesome week lined up for everyone:
- Lunch with Your House: You'll get to sit, eat, and hang out with students from every year level in your house.
- Students vs. Teachers Games: Get ready to cheer as loud as you can at lunchtime when our brave student teams take on the teachers in a game of netball on Wednesday.
- House Challenges: Earn bonus points for your house all week long by showing great sportsmanship, teamwork, and house pride.
It doesn’t matter if you are in Prep or Year 6—we are all part of a team. So dig out your ribbons, pull up your lucky socks, and let's bring the passion for Durkin, Dillon, Lyons, and Coghlan. Let's make this the loudest, most spirited week ever. - Sport Captains/House Captains
