Dare To Be Excellent - Student Success Stories

Nillumbik Shire Council Community Awards
Congratulations to Elliot, one of our talented Year 12 students, whom we proudly nominated for the Nillumbik Shire Council Community Awards.
Elliot was nominated for his outstanding dedication to supporting the young people in our community. He has volunteered his time as a member of Vicki Ward MP's Youth Council, going well beyond his role as a student to represent St Helena Secondary College at both the Nillumbik and Banyule Youth Summits.
He has generously given his time to engage with community leaders and local government representatives, advocating for the issues that matter most to young people.
Elliot has also played a key role in promoting youth community events, helping to ensure that young people across our area feel informed, included, and inspired to get involved.
While Elliot didn't take home the award on the night, his nomination alone speaks volumes about the impact he is already making. With a genuine passion for public service and his sights set on a future in politics, we can't wait to see where his initiative and dedication take him next.
Well done, Elliot. We are so proud of you!
Senior and Rookie Band Soiree
Last Friday, our Instrumental Music students delighted a packed audience as they showcased the musical talents of our Rookie and Senior Bands at a special soiree.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our Senior School students to share their passion for music with our Junior School students, making for a truly wonderful afternoon led by the talented Mr Broadbent and Miss Smith.
State School Spectacular - Mass Dance Team
Our Mass Dance Team is officially arena-ready! Following their final rehearsal last week, our students are now counting down to their performance at the Victorian State Schools Spectacular at John Cain Arena.
They'll be performing in front of a sold-out audience on Saturday 29 August. Good luck to all our dancers as they prepare to take to the big stage.
If you can't make it to the performance, you'll still have the opportunity to see our students shine, with the Victorian State Schools Spectacular set to be broadcast on the Seven Network later this year.
We can't wait to watch them represent our school with pride!
