Principal's News

Dear Famlies of Trinity Primary School,
It has been a really wonderful past week and a half with our senior school mass on Sunday 26th October at St James Church. We had a wonderful turn out of familes which created a great atmosphere made even more special as we shared in the Baptism of one of our Year 6 students as well. On Monday 27th October all our children completed a, Staying Safe Online Workshop and on Tuesday 28th we held the second of our Prep 2026 Transition Days. That same evening a number of our Year 6 children received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Patrick's Cathedral. This week, on Wednesday we had Day 3 Transition and once again our new Preps for next year were treated to a very special, specialist lesson. This time it was Performing Arts which I am sure was loved by all the children.
Staying Safe Online
Our whole school, including a group of interested parents, participated in extremely important workshops with Sophie, (Taylor's mum) a Practice Lead in cybersafety, who spoke to us about the challenges and importance of staying safe online. As parents I am sure we all share the same concerns about our children's online behaviours and the need to provide appropriate boundaries and expecations for them. Navigating this space has become increasingly challenging and a strong message from Sophie was around having open and honest conversations with our children about their behaviours online, what we can and should not share, and the need to set guidelines which we establish and maintain to keep our children safe. It would be great if all parents took the opportunity to ask their children what they gained from this workshop, what their thoughts are and how we can best work together as families, as this online world of our children continues to expand.
Sacrament of Confirmation
On Tuesday 27th evening we were lucky to have been chosen as a school to have our Confirmation Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral. Not only this but the Archbishop of Melbourne, The Most Reverand Peter A Comensoli, officiated the Mass and was joined by Bishop Thinh Nguyen and our very own Parish Priest Fr Trung SJ. Special thanks to our Senior teachers and Mr Ru our Religious Education Leader for all the work done in preparing the children and the celebration. Mr Ru has provided a full write up of ther evening on his Faith Education Page.
Prep 2026 Transition Days
You might have been hard pressed to believe that our new Prep students for 2026 have only had three transition mornings so far. Watching them confidently arriving at Trinity, moving into classrooms and even having a taste of a specialist science and performing arts lesson. Many of them appear well and truly ready to start their Primary School journey. Our Transition Days are such an important step in ensuring a positive start for each child as they enter this new and exciting part of their educational journey. A very big thankyou to Ms Kate, our Kinder Transition Leader, and our current Prep teachers for the organization and preparation to ensure each of these days provides the necessary stepping stones towards that big day in January next year.
World Teachers' Day 2025 Friday 31 October 2025
World Teachers' Day is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the immense effort and dedication that our teachers put into their work.
By celebrating our teachers and showing our appreciation, we can help create a supportive and encouraging environment that allows them to thrive and continue making a positive impact on the minds and futures of our children and young people.
Congratulations to all the staff at Trinity: Classroom Teachers, Specialist Teachers, LSOs and Admin staff. We are all teachers working together to make Trinity a truly special school. Hats off to all of you.
A very big thankyou to our Parents & Friends for providing a delicious morning tea on behalf of all parents.
Planning for 2026
Whilst we must keep our feet firmly planted in 2025 it is necessary to also be looking ahead to all that the 2026 school year will bring. Not least of these will be our exciting building project which will see our current Year 3/4 classrooms completely refurbished, a new classroom created, improvements to our staffroom and toilets and Wellbeing space and a much needed lift. Unfortunately we cannot avoid the inevitable challenges that this will pose be it temporarily but we will of course need to relocate the Year 3/4 classes into our MPR and Library for at least first and second term. We are beginning the difficult task of organizing this move and planning for the changes that this will create. We will keep you all posted as we progress.
