Hello from Grade 5/6Kelsie
Respect, Responsibility and Kindness
Throughout Term 1, we have enjoyed getting to know each other, building strong classroom routines and expectations and completing lots of different learning experiences.

Writing: In writing, we have been analysing different narrative and persuasive techniques and how we can apply these in our own writing. We have explored strategies such as figurative, emotive and sensory language, advertising techniques and applying narrative and persuasive structures in our writing.

Here are some examples of the narratives that students have created.
We have been researching different Bee species and collecting data on the Bee's that we have here at Violet Street Primary School. Students explored the school grounds and found the different areas that Bee's live in, then we collected data based on different questions such as:
We are going to be using our data to plan, design and build Bee Hotels so keep an eye out!

Earlier in the term, we celebrated Nutella Day but making Nutella Croissants. Students loved working together and showed each other how to fold them into delicious and interesting shapes. We also researched interesting facts about Nutella!

“Hello Violet Street Community,
Our garden class is looking for any old plastic containers with lids that might otherwise go into the recycling, such as yogurt pots, ice cream tubs, or dip containers.
If you have any to spare, please give them a wash and send them in with the students, who can pass them on to me.
Thank you for your support!”
