Ms Brea Terris

Dear Families,

Thank you to everyone for the support last week when we had to move offsite. We really appreciate the flexibility, patience, and understanding that everyone showed during what was an unexpected change.

This is part of a wider issue affecting the community, and we are grateful for how positively everyone adapted and supported one another throughout the situation.

A fix for the toilet issues we experience during heavy rain has been scheduled as part of our building works. This will involve the installation of new sewer pumps.

At this stage, it looks likely that we will need to call a late Curriculum Day on 23 March to allow this work to take place, as no one can be onsite while the installation is being completed.

I will send a further email on Monday to confirm whether this will go ahead.

Thank you for your understanding with this matter.

Our students greatly enjoyed their time at Swan Hill College, Swan Hill College – FLO Campus, and Swan Hill Specialist School.

I would like to sincerely thank these schools for welcoming our students and supporting us during this time.

It was a wonderful example of community spirit, and I am very grateful for the way the school communities came together to help.

Your support helped ensure that our students felt welcomed, supported, and able to continue engaging in their learning.

NAPLAN

Congratulations to our students who have participated in NAPLAN this week. We still have a few tests remaining following the disruptions on Wednesday, and we appreciate the patience and resilience our students have shown throughout the process.

ACARA has acknowledged the significant impact on on students who experienced disruptions during their NAPLAN writing assessments earlier this week and has apologised unreservedly for the disruption.

If Your Child Is Unwell, Please Keep Them Home.

As we head through the term, we’re seeing the usual coughs, colds and tummy bugs pop up.

To help keep everyone as healthy as possible, we kindly ask that you keep your child at home if they are unwell. As a reminder, if your child has gastro symptoms (vomiting or diarrhoea), they must remain at home for 48 hours after their last episode before returning to school.

School Council

If you are interested in joining our School Council, I encourage you to Tim Dunstan or I for a conversation about what the role involves. Nominations for School Council are open.

2027 Enrolments

If you know of any families who would like a tour of the school, please encourage them to contact the office.

Keep an eye out for our 2027 enrolment information!

Thank you to our families who are getting the good word out in the community about our school. 'Word of mouth' is the most powerful form of advertising and consequently, we are fielding many enquiries about our school.

Duty of Care

Families are reminded that teachers are on duty before school from 8.30am-8.50am and after school from 3.20pm until 3.30pm. Children should not be unattended in the school grounds before or after these times. Thank you for your support and co-operation with this.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards

Brea
