Dear Parents and Caregivers

As we approach the end of Term 2, your child's school report will be sent home next week. These reports are an important way for us to communicate your child's progress in their learning journey.

Understanding the Reports:

The reports will include grades and comments that reflect your child's achievements and areas for improvement. It's important to remember that these grades are just one part of how we communicate about your child's learning. Our focus is on their growth and development, and we recognise that reports do not capture every aspect of their learning experience.

Supporting Your Child's Learning:

We encourage you to use the report as a starting point for discussions with your child about their learning. Celebrate their successes and talk about the areas where they can continue to grow.

For more information on how to understand the reports and support your child's learning, please refer to the resources provided by the Department for Education. These resources offer valuable insights into the grading system and reporting process. You can access them through the following link: Department for Education Parent Resources.

Communication and Support:

Please remember that the school report is just one way we communicate about your child's learning. We are always here to support you and your child. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child's progress further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sir Ken Robinson was known for his insightful views on education. One of his quotes that touches on the broader theme of education and assessment is:

"Assessment should not be the dominant culture of education. It should be about discovering the talents and passions of each child."

This quote reflects his belief in focusing on individual growth and recognising diverse talents, rather than solely relying on traditional reporting and assessments.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education.
