Ready, Set, Karate!
Our Grade 4 and 5 students kicked off their four-week karate program with enthusiasm this week. In their first lesson, students learned essential blocks, kicks, and punches, as well as how to count in Japanese. Thank you to Natsuko and Gabriel from Karyukai Karate for giving our students the opportunity to learn these valuable new skills.
Karyukai Karate is generously offering Toorak Primary School students one FREE month of karate training. Students who visit the Karyukai Karate studio at 40 Fitzgerald Street, South Yarra and mention that they attend Toorak Primary School will be eligible for this special offer.
Beachside Division Athletics
Last Friday, 10 TPS students from Grade 4 to 6 represented Toorak Primary School at the Beachside Division Athletics Competition. Congratulations to Lucy (4C), Nini (4B), Leopold (4B), Sammy (5B), Xavier (5A), Gael (5A), Royce (6C), Anton (6A) and Ayub (6C) who competed in various track and field events on the day. A special shoutout to Xavier for placing 3rd in high jump and Lucy for placing third in high jump. Well done to all!
Action, Expression, Mime!
Students in grade 4/5 last week were very lucky to attend a Philippe et Jacques – French Music and Mime Incursion. The performance combined French music, mime, comedy, drama and magic. There was plenty of audience participation, sing-a-long songs, dances that everybody joined in, and best of all, a real mime artist who was mesmerising! Our students were thoroughly engaged and enthusiastic throughout the performance and gained a deeper appreciation of how powerful storytelling can be without words.
Congratulations to Hugo!
We are delighted to congratulate Hugo Errington from Grade 5, who won the Hors catégorie section of the Berthe Mouchette French Poetry Recital Competition, organised by the Alliance Française.
The competition brings together students from schools across Victoria, making Hugo’s achievement particularly impressive. We are incredibly proud of his hard work, confidence and excellent French poetry recital.
Félicitations, Hugo! What a fantastic achievement!
Stripes, Scarves & Footy Spirit!
TPS was a sea of footy colors on the last day of Term 3. Students proudly came dressed in their favourite footy colours. A special footy colours day parade was held showcasing everything AFL. There were plenty of cheers and excitment amongst the crowd!
Grade 6 Bake and Halloween Costume Sale
On the last day of term 3, our grade 6 cohort held a halloween costume, and bake sale. Freshly baked biscuits, slices and cup cakes were on offer. All funds raised have been put towards their fast approaching graduation at the end of the year. This term, our grade 6's are selling icypoles for $2 each Friday lunchtime concluding on Friday 11th November. Order on QKR by 4pm on the Thursday prior to each icypole day! Thank you for supporting our Grade 6 students as they prepare for this exciting milestone!
