Through the Leadership Lens

Dear Families,

I hope you all had a great break and have started the term with a spring in your step. While we all appreciate a chance to unwind and enjoy a slower pace of life, it is always good to be back and hit the ground running. The school is a completely different place during the holidays; it just isn't the same without the vibrant energy the children bring each day. It was wonderful to see everyone's smiling faces and hear the chatter on Monday morning.

The term has definitely started with all systems go, and it doesn't look like we're slowing down anytime soon! It was a pleasure to join our Year 4 and 5 students at the Mazenod and Avila musical of Beauty and the Beast on Wednesday. Our children represented our school beautifully, and as Principal, it was a true privilege to see their school pride on display.

We also held our first Nude Food Day at St Leonard’s. What a wonderful initiative by our Guardians to highlight the importance of waste management and remind us that every little bit counts toward building a sustainable future.

I look forward to sharing many more wonderful experiences with you throughout the term and highlighting our student leaders over the coming weeks.

A few important reminders:

  • Front Office iPad Upgrades: We have recently upgraded our iPad technology at the front office. Please note that from now on, if you arrive late with your child or are picking them up early, you are required to sign them in or out using the iPad.
  • Personal Items at School: A number of personal items (such as jewellery, toys, and other valuables) have recently been brought to school and subsequently lost or broken. We ask that these items remain at home to avoid these occurrences. If your child's class is running a "Show and Tell" session, bringing an item is fine, as it will remain safely with the classroom teacher.
  • Pick-up / Drop-off Traffic Flow: Please remember that if you are parking at the front office during pick-up and drop-off times, you must turn left to join the existing traffic. There will generally be a barrier to remind you, but the rule still applies even if the barrier is not there. Turning right out of these parking spots is highly dangerous.

Take care,

Alyce
