2025 School Annual Report Highlights

The 2025 Annual Report has been endorsed by School Council.  Here are the highlights.

Learning

In 2025, the College strengthened teaching and learning through a strong focus on inclusion, consistency and high‑impact classroom practice. Teachers worked collaboratively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to embed Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS), increase student choice, and align curriculum planning with Victorian Curriculum 2.0. Clear learning goals were supported by rubrics and “I can” statements, ensuring students and parents received continuous feedback.

These strategies have delivered strong academic outcomes. NAPLAN results showed continued improvement in literacy and numeracy, with well above state and similar school averages in both Year 7 and Year 9 Reading and Numeracy.

Senior secondary results were also impressive, with a 100% VCE/VM completion rate and an increase in the All Study Mean Score to 28.8. Teachers collaborated closely to strengthen feedback, exam preparation and explicit teaching of task words.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing and inclusion remained a major priority. The school expanded the use of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and strengthened disability inclusion practices through targeted professional learning, clearer processes and consistent data use. Staff built their expertise in making reasonable adjustments and supporting diverse learners.

Student wellbeing data reflects this strong focus. Results from the Attitudes to School Survey show higher than state and similar school results across key measures, including sense of connectedness, inclusion, bullying management, life satisfaction and physical and mental health.

The implementation of The Resilience Project continues to have a positive impact, with students reporting feeling happier, safer and more connected at school.

Engagement

Engagement remained strong throughout 2025, supported by consistent classroom practices, improved attendance processes and a wide range of co‑curricular opportunities. Attendance improved to align with state averages, and student retention from Years 7–10 was significantly above state and similar schools.

Students participated enthusiastically in programs such as the Athlete Development Program (ADP), instrumental music, clubs, camps, productions and interschool sport. These experiences have strengthened student connectedness, agency and sense of belonging.

Other Highlights

  • Athlete Development Program: Over 150 students participated, achieving outstanding sporting success at state and national levels while maintaining strong attendance and leadership involvement.
  • Performing Arts and Music: Growth across Drama, Dance and Music, highlighted by the successful production of Alice in Wonderland, State School Spectacular participation and the annual Greensborough Live concert.

  • Visual Arts: The annual Art Show showcased inclusive student creativity, with every art and media student exhibiting work.

  • Student Leadership: Leadership opportunities across year levels, houses and specialist areas continue to shape school culture and student voice.

  • Community and Connection: A vibrant Clubs Program, formals, Debutante Ball, camps, Outdoor Education and the Breakfast Club supported student connection, wellbeing and participation.

Overall, 2025 was a year of strong academic improvement, increased inclusion, enhanced engagement and thriving student wellbeing, reflecting the College’s commitment to learning, connection and opportunity for all students.

Celebrating Education Support Personnel Day – 16 May

Every day, our Education Support Personnel play a vital role in the life of our school. They work behind the scenes and alongside students and teachers to keep our school running smoothly, support student learning, and enable high‑quality teaching and learning to occur.

Our Education Support staff contribute in so many ways across a wide range of roles, bringing care, skill, dedication and professionalism to everything they do. Their work makes a meaningful difference to our students’ learning, wellbeing and success, and to the strength of our whole school community.

Education Support Personnel Day, celebrated annually on 16 May, provides an important opportunity to recognise and thank these valued members of our staff. We look forward to celebrating our Education Support team next week and acknowledging the impact they have every single day.

To all our Education Support Personnel — thank you for your hard work, commitment and care. You are appreciated, valued and an essential part of our school.

Mother’s Day – Honouring Care, Love and Connection

Mother’s Day is a special time to recognise and celebrate the many people who nurture, care for and support our children and young people. For many, it is a day to honour mums, grandmothers, step‑mums, carers and significant adults who provide guidance, encouragement and unconditional love.

We also acknowledge that Mother’s Day can be a complex or emotional time. Some members of our community may be missing a mother or special person who has passed, while others may find this day brings reflection rather than celebration. We hold space for all experiences and extend our care and compassion to those for whom this day may be difficult.

Whatever Mother’s Day looks like for you and your family, we recognise the important role that caring adults play in shaping the lives of our students and strengthening our school community.

On behalf of the school, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who support, nurture and care for our young people. We wish everyone a gentle and meaningful Mother’s Day.
