Our own version of Socceroos!
Last Friday (Term 2), the soccer boys made the bus trip to Bacchus Marsh to compete at Division Soccer. When we got off the bus, we were very excited but also nervous. We put on our boots & went to warm up. We took a couple of shots on Hudson. We warmed up our corners, then we stretched. As soon as we heard the whistle, we knew it was game time.
Holy Cross 1 vs Melton South PS 1
Goals: Finnan Howley
This game was tough. We weren't switched on from the start. Finnan scored late in the first half, which put us in the lead. George & Oliver were doing well as strikers. James Dwyer & Harry were doing well in the defence, while Jameson, Finnan, James Walker, Max Allen & Mitch were busy and doing well in the midfield. A couple of highlights for the game were having fun & celebrating with Finnan.
Holy Cross 3 vs Bacchus Marsh Grammar (Woodlea) 1
Goals: Max Allen, Max McGrath & Finnan Howley
Max Allen scored early, and Hudson didn’t want to let anything go through in goals. It was a physical game, while Jack, Eion, & James Walker didn’t let anything go past them, James Walker would push up and give help to Jameson, Finnan, Mitch, Max McGrath, & Max Allen. Max McGrath scored early in the second half followed by Finnan's goal. We broke down a little and let them score late in the game. In the end, we took it home.
A couple of highlights for the game were celebrating with all the goal scores & having fun.
Holy Cross 3 vs Bacchus Marsh Grammar (Maddingly) 0
Goals: Jameson Howley 3 (Hat-trick)
We knew we had to win this game if we were going to make it through to Regionals. Jameson kicked us off with the first goal. It was a struggle at the start, but Jameson kicked two more and we knew we had this one. Our defenders stopped many attacking plays to keep a clean sheet. A couple of highlights for the game were celebrating with Jameson, having fun & celebrating our win. A couple of highlights for the day were laughing with others & celebrating with everyone.

Superstar Travelling to China!
We have some incredibly exciting sports news to share! A huge congratulations to Mitchell Harris, who has been selected to represent Australia in the upcoming futsal competition in China. Reaching the international stage is a massive milestone and a true testament to Mitch's hard work, dedication, and talent. We are all incredibly proud to watch him take this next big step in his futsal journey. Best of luck in China, Mitch—we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
