Year 5 and 6

GRADE 6 BIG DAY OUT

We are looking forward to a fun end of year celebration with the Grade 6's on Wednesday. The weather report is looking promising. Parents would have received an email with all the details, including what students need to bring. Students must have a rashie or t-shirt while swimming. 

Please note, we will be returning to school after 3:30 (approximately 4:15). We will be unable to just let students walk home at that time, so please organise to collect your child then or contact your teacher.

BIKE HIKE

Our Bike Hike is quickly approaching so please ensure your child has returned their permission form with dietary requirements. It is also important that their bike is ready to go for a long ride (tyres pumped, chain well oiled, etc). The ride takes all day, with plenty of stops for drinks and snacks. Students are encouraged to get a good night's sleep and be well hydrated before they come to school. If you regularly order SUBWAY, please remember that we won't be at school for lunch (the Bike Hike Sausage Sizzle is always a highlight!).

GRADUATION - Wednesday 13 December

There are still a some families who haven't booked their tickets for the Year 6 Graduation. We spoke to the students early in the week about what to expect, with photos from past events. Please contact your teacher if there are any questions, but we'd like to remind you that we only have capacity for two parents/family members per family and no younger siblings are allowed.

VERMONT VIEWS

Miss Strachan and Miss Abrahams would like to remind you that The Vermont Views magazine is still available for purchase on Qkr! This is a great keepsake of 'the year that was' and a fun way to track your child's journey through their school years. Orders have been extended and the final day to purchase the school magazine will be next Friday 8th December.

Year 5 Animal Adaptations Projects

This term our focus has been on animal adaptations and each student has been researching an animal of their choosing. We have had some incredible work presented by our students and it is fantastic to see the progress in their research and presentation skills since the beginning of the year. Even students have commented on their progress which is fantastic to hear. 

Year 5 Class Parties

All Year 5 classes are going to be having individual class parties this year with sharing of food once again allowed post our Covid rules. Each classroom teacher will coordinate with their own parent group about food to be brought to school and an email has been sent home to give further details. 

Year 6 Polo T-shirts for 2024

We have been advised by PSW that the t-shirts for the 2024 Year 6 students are on their way so we will distribute them as soon as possible. These are not to be worn this year. Please ensure that they are labelled. The school jumpers will be ordered in Term 1 2024.
