Year 3

Indonesian Day

Last week, students were super excited to celebrate the Indonesian culture and participate in some fun games and activities.

Students made paper kites, raced in an eating rice cake competition, worked as a team to try and get a pen into a bottle, and designed some hats!

Big shout out to Mrs Fuller and Ms Pittas for their awesome effort in making it a great day for everyone!

Class Party and Kris Kringle

Your child should have brought notices home recently about class party and class Kris Kringle arrangements.

Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about this.

It's important you let them know ASAP if there is a reason you are unable to participate in KK, so that they can ensure every child is catered for.

Moving Day

All Year 3 classes (except 3KY) will be moving rooms on Tuesday for Moving Day. This means that students will have a new classroom for the remainder of the year. When they move, teacher's will inform students of their new line up areas.

3AW - moving to Room 14 (South Building, old 3PA room)

3LS - moving to Room 1 (North Building, old 3AW room)

3PA - moving to Room 2 (North Building, old 3CT room)

3CT - moving to Room 3 (North Building, next door to their old room (old 1GS))

3KY - staying put!

Transition Day

On Tuesday 12th December the Year 3 students will be finding out their Year 4 teacher and class! This is a very exciting time for everyone.

Please know that every placement was carefully considered so that it was the best outcome for student learning. Every child had an opportunity to list friends they would like to be with, and they all got someone from this list in their future class.

If your child is away on this day, your current class teacher will email you with the 2024 teacher information.

Year 4

Great Barrier Reef Expo

On Thursday there was a brilliant turn-out for the highly anticipated Great Barrier Reef Expo! All the Year 4 students were so excited to present work they had completed as part of this term's Inquiry focus. It was great to see many parents, family members and younger and older students enjoying the displays and listening to the children sharing their knowledge. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Great Barrier Reef Writing

As part of their expo display, the Year 4 students included a writing piece they had published in a genre of their own choice. Please enjoy some of their wonderful writing samples below:

Indonesian Day

Year 4 students enjoyed the fun and engaging activities organised by Mrs Fuller and Ms Pittas on Indonesian Day. The day was a fantastic celebration of the Indonesian culture. A very popular activity was the rice cracker eating challenge. Some photos of students from 4JH completing this activity are below:
