Uniform Orders
Our non compulsory uniform is now live and ready for purchases on QKR! for anyone keen to purchase some items for 2024. Order will close on December 11th.
The uniform options consist of a short sleeved t-shirt, a long sleeved t-shirt and a windcheater. They will have the kindergarten logo embroidered onto the left side of the chest of the garment. Generally, the sizes are average to slightly generous. All items can be viewed at the kinder in the foyer if you wish to check colours and sizes prior to purchase.
DE Parent Opinion Survey
Can you please help us by completing the annual Kindergarten Parent Opinion Survey? It’s your chance to tell the Department of Education (DE) what’s going well in the kindergarten program, as well as any areas for improvement. The survey will only take a few minutes to complete and you can do it on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Please click the button below to start the survey.
Responses to the survey are anonymous and will help to provide the best possible kindergarten experience for children and families. The survey is available in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Dari, Tamil, Sinhalese, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. You will be asked to select your preferred language at the first screen.
New Funded Kindergarten Declaration Form
After our enrolment forms for 2024 were sent out to families the Department of Education changed how they would like families to declare which service they wish to claim their Kindergarten Funding from.
Since your child can only access one funded kinder program at a time, this means that only one service can claim kindergarten funding for your child and pass on the Free Kinder savings.
We now need to send out another form for all 2024 enrolments to complete. I am currently putting this form together so it can be attached to your child's enrolment record. If your child is enrolled for 2024 you will soon receive this form in your email inbox for you to complete. If you could please complete it as soon as possible, that would be much appreciated.
Transitions, Learning and Development Statements (TLDS)
All children heading off to school next year will have had a Transition Statement completed by their teachers. These have also now been submitted on the portal to their relevant schools. Thank you to all the families for completing their sections in a timely manner so these could be sent off. These are valuable documents for the children's teachers to have to help them settle into school.
I also want to thank our teachers for all their time and effort they have put into writing the Statements. These take a lot of time to complete and I know our 4 YO teachers try to ensure as much information as possible is included in them to help each child have the best start at School!
4 YO Program
The 4 Yo children have continued to enjoy working with the Bee-Bots this fortnight. They are becoming very comfortable with coding them to complete a circuit and make the bee-bot move as they wish.
Our Waratah group went on a local walk this week to post their Santa letters! We were very impressed with them as they all walked together, with some local residents commenting how lovely they were doing as they walked along!
The children did an amazing job having a go and writing and drawing their letters to Santa. They all helped put their letters in their envelopes and put the stamps on. Each of them were able to reach up and put their own letter into the letterbox. Now we wait to see if Santa will write back!
3YO Programs
The 3 YO's have been as busy as always. Here are a few highlights from the fortnight:
- Mixing bi-carb soda water with vinegar to make fizzing ocean water
- Mixing up the batter to bake some sprinkle cupcakes.
- Cutting strips of paper to make some paper chains.
End of Year Celebrations
We started off with a bang with Waratah's concert just this week. Thank you to everyone who came along. It was a big turn out with lots of grandparents and other family members coming along too. Well done to all the children who did an incredible job performing for everyone. It is such a lovely way to end the year, particularly to celebrate their last year at kinder, before heading off to school!
We are looking forward to Lasiandras evening celebration in a couple of weeks and the 3 YO in session celebrations.
