Important Update

Dear families,

I am writing to inform you of an incident that occurred this morning involving a small group of our students while they were waiting for the school bus in Violet Town.

During this time, the students were approached by unfamiliar individuals who engaged them in conversation, in an attempt to get the students to leave with them.

Our students responded exceptionally well. They remained calm, stayed together and looked after one another. We are incredibly proud of their sensible actions.

All students involved are safe and currently at school. Families of those directly affected have already been contacted, the matter has been reported to the appropriate authorities and we will continue to follow all necessary processes.

As always, student safety is our highest priority. We encourage families to have gentle conversations with their children about safe behaviours in the community, including the importance of staying with friends, keeping personal information private, and seeking adult help when something doesn’t feel right. We will also be reinforcing this messaging at school, with age appropriate discussions for all students.

If you have any concerns or wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Thank you for your ongoing support and trust as we work together to keep our young people safe.

Kind regards,

Sam Kerlin
