Physical Education

This week our lower junior students have been focusing on throwing, catching and movement in fun physical activity games. These primary skills are regularly taught as theses are skills that all our kids will use in the majority of games/sports that they will come across either at school, or outside of school playing organised sports, such as basketball, football, netball, cricket, soccer and any other sports.

For our Upper juniors through to the Senior School, our students have continued participating in a new game called "Treasure Island".

This is a game where the class is divided into two teams, with both teams starting at their end with 4 cones (treasure). The object is to steal the other team's treasure. What makes this game fun and exciting is that anyone from any team can decide to either attack or defend on their own, or with a partner or two from their own team, all whilst not being tagged. The team that captures all the cones is the winning team.

After two lessons of this, I can safely say that this is one of most popular games going around Naranga at the moment. The students really enjoy this activity with everybody joining in.

BEFORE SCHOOL BASKETBALL TRAINING FOR OUR FRIDAY MORNING SENIOR TEAMS

For any senior students involved in Friday morning Senior School Basketball.

Coaching has begun this week, on both Monday and Wednesday morning 8.45. This is optional, however it would be fantastic if all members of any of the fours teams could come along and improve their basketball skills both for themselves and for their Friday morning team.

Congratulations kids, fantastic effort from last week to make it into the State finals.

Winter  is firmly here now, and outside it can be quite cold. Please make sure your child has a jumper with them to allow them to be more comfortable when participating in their weekly PE class.
