LAST WEEK OF TERM!

WOW, how quickly has term 1 gone.  Whilst I missed the first four weeks of the year I am back into the Naranga way again.  With the end of term there can often be staffing changes and at the end of this term we say good bye to one teacher and hello to another,  a speech pathologist starting next term.  Patrick Binyon,  one of our teachers who many of you know is moving into a welfare type roll at Westernport Secondary College.  In his five years at Naranga he has worked with the older students in pathways and seniors with a real focus on Outdoor Education.  Equally we have just filled our speech pathologist position - we look forward to welcoming Sigrid Svensson to our school.  Sigrid has extensive experience in the disability field and her most recent position has been in NDIS community health.

We have a number of excited students through all sections of the school. At our school assembly on Wednesday 24th April our local state member Paul Edbrooke is attending to present our School Representative Council badges as well as our school captains and vice captains.  This is always an exciting event and the students who will receive the badges wear them with pride.  Whilst Paul will be visiting we will take him on a tour of the new building site to show the progress and talk about the future.

Some important dates to keep in mind,  the ANZAC Day public holiday - Thursday 24th April and the Kings birthday public holiday - Monday 10th June.  In addition,  on the evening of 22nd May there is the careers night primarily for the students and parents of year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students.
