Year 6

Sports academy

In Sports Academy, we are doing volleyball with coach Nick. He does games with us and helps us with digs, sets and spikes. We do games like ‘flinch’. There was also a game where we had to run to the other side of the basketball court to get a cone and dodge volleyballs as we ran. We played games where Nick threw the ball over the net and we had to have quick reflexes, ‘by being on our toes’ and do a dig, set or spike back. We also played ‘Keepy uppy’ with the volleyballs.

I am looking forward to Lightning Prem. I am doing basketball, we will catch the bus and play against other schools. I am also looking forward to the next one and doing soccer. Henry S

I am looking forward to Adventure Park. I am excited to do the water park and mini golf, because they are my favourite bits of Adventure Park. Isobel M

Year 10-12 VPC

Students in 10-12 VPC have started strong in Term 1.  Students have been engaged in all areas of learning and adjusting to the VPC units including Literacy, Numeracy, Personal and Social Development and the new VPC units, Digital Literacy, Art and Design and Food Studies.

Year 10 students are studying Unit 1 whilst year 11&12 students are completing Unit 3.

It has been a super positive start.  Students have been reading a variety of texts from a range of text types and genres, learning how to read maps, give and read directions, creating slide shows for oral presentations, and learning key life skills for healthy, self-development.  We are noticing how students are making connections to self, others and the real world whilst developing effective communication, teamwork, and self-reflective skills.

Students are demonstrating strong commitment to daily spelling mastery, reading fluency, and honing their awesome speed and automaticity skills during maths fluency.  It’s been super awesome to see the Yr.10’s enjoy a wide range of physical activities during Personal Development sessions.  Movement is a strong protective factor for mental health and wellbeing which we have prioritised in the 10-12 VPC community as a core part of Personal and Social Development.  We have been overjoyed to see students embrace this part of their personal learning journey by setting goals, trying new activities, staying active for an hour, and committing to movement-based learning.

Overall, an epic start to 2026 from the 10-12VPC team!!
