It’s been a busy start to Term 3 with our boys returning refreshed and ready for the ‘footy term’. It’s been great seeing our boys embrace school footy again with the boys playing across all the divisions. Congrats to both Tashaun Wright and Occy Croker who played their first ‘First XVIII’ game for St Patrick’s College and certainly didn’t look out of place. Both these boys are regulars to our morning training sessions and its great seeing the way they bring our younger boys into games. We love seeing the pride on the boys faces when they pull on the St. Pats Guernsey for the first time.
We are hosting the 2024 Victorian Clontarf Cup in Week 5 which will see Clontarf Academies from across Victoria converge on St Patrick’s College for a day of footy. Our boys are excited to get their first taste of Clontarf footy for the year with our senior boys using the carnival to try out for the Victorian Clontarf State of origin squad.
The Academy room has been a buzz during recess and lunch with big numbers of boys utilising our space. Table tennis and Connect 4 have been popular pursuits with our first Connect 4 champion being crowned. A big congratulations to Riley-Connor McCaw who beat Greg Bush in a tense final!
This term we have also introduced our ‘Deadly Box’ to celebrate some of the achievements of our boys. Our first winner of the term was Daniel Rivas whose dedication has lead to some outstanding results in Chemistry. Well done Dan. It’s important we take the time to celebrate the wins along the way and it was great seeing how the boys got around Dan in the wake of his achievement.
