Compact roundabouts: Share your views

We’re looking for drivers of cars, trucks and heavy vehicles, as well as riders of motorcycles and bicycles, to tell us about their experience using the Remembrance Drive/Madden Road roundabout.

We are holding a focus group at Lucas Community Hub Ballarat on May 22 from 12pm-1.30pm. Your feedback and views will feed into understanding the safety and function of compact roundabouts and what this means to road users in Victoria.

If you are interested in participating, please visit our Focus Group page or email victoria.slegers@abley.com. To ensure a range of representatives, all respondents are required to complete a short two-minute, pre-qualification survey.

Further information will be provided closer to the date, and attendees who complete the focus group will receive an incentive. This focus group is being carried out on behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).

Support Connor Smith

Our thoughts and prayers are with Old Collegian Connor Smith (SPC 2015-2020) and his family after Connor was seriously injured in a recent accident at a gold mine in Ballarat.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up by a member of the extended family to help support Connor's long road to recovery. To contribute, please click on this link:

Seeking foster carers

CAFS is seeking more foster carers to provide homes for children in out-of-home care.

On any given day there are about 1,600 children in foster care placements in Victoria and about 470 children in residential care. The number of children in out-of-home care in Victoria is increasing while the number of foster carers is decreasing (AIHW 2023).

To learn more about becoming a foster carer, CAFS invites you to attend an upcoming information session. Register your interest by scanning the QR code, calling 1800 692 237 or visiting cafs.org.au.
