Principal's Message

Term Three Is Off to a Great Start

Welcome Back

Welcome back to Term Three! It has been wonderful to see our students return with such enthusiasm and settle quickly back into the routines of school.

We have enjoyed a calm, positive and productive beginning to the term, with students reconnecting with their friends and teachers and getting straight back into their learning. Thank you to our families for helping make the return to school so smooth.

A special thank you also goes to our staff, who used time over the holidays to complete planning, prepare classrooms and ensure everything was ready for a successful start. Their care, commitment and preparation have certainly been evident throughout our first week back.

Our School Is Looking Great

There has been plenty happening around our school grounds, with a number of works taking place to improve our facilities and learning environment.

These improvements contribute to making Launching Place Primary School a safe, welcoming and attractive place for our students, staff and community.

Learning Is Underway

Our classrooms have quickly returned to being busy, purposeful places. Students are reconnecting with established routines, revisiting expectations and beginning their Term Three learning with focus and enthusiasm.

Across the school, our work in reading, writing and mathematics continues, alongside opportunities for students to develop confidence, independence and ownership of their learning. We look forward to sharing more classroom learning and student achievements throughout the term.

A Strong Semester Ahead

At Launching Place Primary School, we know the work that matters most, and we remain committed to building on the progress already made this year.

Throughout Semester Two, we will continue to focus on:

  • strengthening every student’s reading skills

  • building confident and capable writers

  • developing mathematical fluency and problem-solving

  • supporting student wellbeing, engagement and belonging

  • maintaining consistent, high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

Our staff began the term by reflecting on the first half of the year, celebrating our progress and identifying the practices we want to protect, refine and strengthen. It was a valuable opportunity to reconnect with our shared purpose and begin the semester with clarity and confidence.

Welcome to Our Team

We are delighted to welcome Alexandria Daculan, who has joined us as our Arts teacher for the remainder of 2026. Alexandria will teach on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and we are excited about the creativity, expertise and enthusiasm she will bring to our Arts program.

We also warmly welcome Grace Barnard, who will be teaching at Launching Place on Tuesdays, supporting students in 6B and 4/5T.

As previously shared, Mrs Meg Stewart has commenced her acting Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader role on Wednesdays and Thursdays. During this time, Mrs Heather Taylor will teach 1/2S. Heather is an experienced and familiar member of our school community, and we know she will make a wonderful contribution to the Year 1/2 team.

Celebrating Our Community

There is already plenty to look forward to this term, including our upcoming school disco, organised by our wonderful Parents and Friends group.

Events such as these are an important part of school life. They give students opportunities to have fun together while strengthening the connections between our families, staff and wider community. We are very grateful to the volunteers who give their time and energy to make these experiences possible.

Prep 2027: Come and Join Us!

Planning is well underway for our 2027 Prep Transition Program.

Our upcoming sessions will give future Prep students the opportunity to visit Launching Place, try some engaging classroom activities, become familiar with our school environment and meet some of their soon-to-be Launch mates.

Families with a child beginning Prep in 2027 can register here: https://forms.gle/EDu71QDpDnPZ8fxQ9
