Exciting News: We’ve Won the Dogs Connect Nationwide 2025 Competition! 🐾

We are thrilled to share that our entry, Bexley’s Big School Day, has been recognised for showcasing the Dogs Connect themes of Connection, Authenticity, and Choice, and for highlighting the positive impact wellbeing dogs have in schools. Told from Bexley’s perspective, the story also includes quotes from our school community.

We want to thank our entire school community for their incredible support and encouragement, especially everyone who shared feedback about Bexley and the positive difference having a wellbeing dog in our school makes, your voices helped this project shine. 

What’s next:

• We’d love for some students to read the book aloud so we can record their voices and link the recordings via a QR code.
• The book is also in the process of being printed, so we can enjoy a physical copy soon!

Bexley Visits the Prep Classes! 🐾

Bexley visited the Prep classrooms with Miss Dullard during Week 1. The children learned about his important role, asked questions and were invited to gently pat him if they felt comfortable.

They discovered that Bexley is still young and learning his special job, so he needs calm, respectful care. The Preps were wonderful, moving slowly, speaking quietly and giving him space.

It was a happy, calm visit, and the children should be very proud of themselves!
