Naranga's Big Build Begins!

It has been nearly two years since we were first told that the Minister of Education had granted funds for school redevelopment at Naranga School.  I'm pleased to report that work officially began on Tuesday!  This week, fencing and hoardings are being constructed to isolate the worksite from the rest of campus.  Demolition of the old building will take place over the coming weeks.   We will manage the inconvenience this year because everyone is so excited to see how this project develops.  

For those that may be unaware, the old Senior building and Junior playground will all be rebuilt as part of this project.  At the end of term 1, 2025 we will have a new modern building with four classrooms, office spaces, and specialist learning areas for art, performing arts, physical education and hands on learning.  We'll also have a custom designed junior playground that blends bespoke play equipment with natural features, gardens and quiet areas.  These projects are much needed and will enhance the learning experience of Naranga's students for years to come.

With nearly one-third of campus contained within the building site, we've had to make lots of changes.  I'm so pleased with how well everyone has adapted to the changes.  Classes are in different locations and specialists are delivering their programs in homerooms so students don't have to  move around the school as much.  We will also be creating a new temporary playground space  once the demolition of the junior playground begins.  As I keep telling everyone, we'll deal with the disruption now because it will be worth it in the end!

Further call for 2024 School Council - Seeking 2 more nominations

Last Friday nominations for parent representatives on School Council closed.  There were four vacancies to be filled.  As the number of nominations received was less than the number of vacancies I am seeking two more nominations.  I will reopen nominations until 4pm on March 8th.  

Nomination forms are available from the office or one can be emailed to you.  Just ring us on 9788 2222 to make this request.
