On Friday 7th of November, the Woodlands Primary School Foundation students went on a very exciting excursion to the Melbourne Zoo. We had been learning about different types of animals and the habitats they live in and we were excited to see some mammals, reptiles and birds. We had also been learning some AUSLAN signs for the zoo animal names with Miss Morgan.

We walked around in little groups with a helper. Some of the animals we loved seeing were the seals, the lions, the tigers and the baby giraffe. Some groups visited the Reptile House and saw some long snakes and a very large crocodile. Other groups had fun watching the meerkats and the monkeys. The zoo is so big that we knew that we couldn’t see everything.

It was a long bus ride and lots of walking, but we all had a lovely day. We hope we can go back to the zoo with our families to see all the animals again.
