Principal's Report

Thursday 24th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to Term 3!

After a well deserved break, it is truly wonderful to see our vibrant community reunite, our students eager to learn, and our dedicated staff ready to inspire and care.

We gathered as a staff on Monday and teachers had a curriculum reform day whilst teacher assistants worked with Mrs Hillier and myself to provide further training and reflection.

Feast of St Anne and St Joachim:

Jesus’ Grandparents

Tomorrow we are delighted to welcome our beloved grandparents to Grandparents Day at our school. This is a special occasion to honour the love, wisdom and support grandparents so generously share. They hold a cherished place in our hearts and in the life of our school community.

Grandparents Day coincides with the Feast of St Anne and Joachim (26th July) who were Jesus’ grandparents. They are the patron saints of Grandparents and they too played a very special role in Jesus’ life.

Saints Joachim and Anne, you were blessed to be the parents of Mary, the Mother of God, and  the grandparents of Jesus. We ask for your intercession on our behalf. Pray for our families, that they may be strengthened in faith and love. Guide our children and grandchildren, that they may grow in virtue and wisdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Confirmation Preparation

It was wonderful to see so many students and their families at the Confirmation Information evening. We continue to support and pray for our Yr 5 and 6 students who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is another very special milestone in their faith journey. Thank you Fr Paddy, Mrs Salmon, Mrs Gardiner and Mr Pratt for presenting last night at the meeting.

Parish Mass/Confirmation Commitment Mass

This Saturday 26th July, Stage 3 will host the Parish Mass in the church starting at 6pm. This will also be a commitment mass for our Confirmation Candidates. We invite all families to the mass and join in the celebration of the liturgy.

Diocesan Athletics Carnival

We wish the students who are attending the Diocesan Athletics Carnival in Albury on Monday all the very best and hope they have an enjoyable day. We look forward to hearing about their efforts on their return to school.

Primary Equipment Shade Sail

The first stages of construction for the shade sail to cover the primary equipment has been completed and the poles have been erected. We require a minimum of 10 days for the poles to cure and the sail to be attached. This is another stage in our playground redevelopment and that our school fundraising is going towards.

SJJU Social and Fundraising Committee Meeting

This will be held next Friday 1st August after the whole school assembly in the hall. All parents are welcome as are the children. The meeting will start at 3.30pm.

To conclude, I’d like to wish everyone a very happy term 3 and remind our families that if you have any issues or would just like to chat please don’t hesitate to contact me at school on 69241717, call in and see me or email me at scotta3@ww.catholic.edu.au.

God Bless

Angela Scott
