Welcome to 2026
Welcome back everyone, I hope you all had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday period and got to spend some quality family time together. It has been so refreshing to see everyone's smiling faces and genuine excitement to be back at school and seeing their friends and settling into their new classes.
I would particularly like to welcome all the new families and students to Albion North Primary School, including all of our Foundation students as well as several new students across the Year 1-6 classes who have come to us from other schools, or potentially other states. I believe I have met all of the new students however it could take me a couple of weeks to remember all of the new names so apologies in advance if I happen to use any wrong names.
I am occasionally still finding myself writing 2025, instead of 2026 as the new year is still taking a while to get used to.
I have visited all of the 2026 classrooms this week and have been so impressed by how well the students (and teachers) have settled into their 'new' learning environment. Whether the students have moved rooms, stayed in the same room, have the same teacher or have a new teacher this year, everyone has made the transition extremely smoothly. I am sure however, that there have been many tired students at the end of the day, particularly in Foundation, as they adapt to the times and demands of school. Thankfully, apart from Tuesday, the weather has been pleasant and allowed the students to go outside and play during break times.
Primary School Nursing Program
This program is a free health and wellbeing service offered to all Victorian students in their first year of school. It aims to promiote child health and wellbeing and to assist in the early identification of potential health and development related learning difficulties. Today an envelope went hom with all Foundation students with an information brochure as well as a QR code which links to an initial Online SchoolEntrant Health Questionnaire. To complete this questionnaire click on the link and then follow the instructions.
If you require assistance to complete it please contact the school where we can organise to help at a time that is suitable. Further information is included in the pack sent home as well as in the information sheet below.
Have a wonderful weekend.
