Community Wellness

Community Wellness Update:
Our Wellbeing Team has been engaging in strategic planning this fortnight to ensure all supports for our learners align closely with the needs of our school community. As part of this work, we are reviewing and strengthening the social & emotional, mental health, and wellbeing programs available across all year levels.
Our goal is to ensure every learner has access to the right supports at the right time, helping them thrive both academically and personally. By offering consistent, high-quality wellbeing programs, we aim to nurture the whole child.
We look forward to continuing this important work and keeping families updated as our initiatives progress into 2026.
Attendance Matters:
As we move toward the end of term, we would like to remind families of the important role regular attendance plays in every learner’s success. While our overall attendance has slightly dropped in the past fortnight, we know this time of year can be challenging. Keeping well, maintaining routines, and seeking support when needed all help ensure learners are ready and able to attend each day. A special shout-out to class 1B, who, at the time of collecting attendance data, achieved an outstanding 100% attendance over the past week. Well done to Ms Margie's learners for showing such commitment and being ready to learn each day. Keep up the fantastic effort!
School TV:
From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms must take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or keeping an account. This reform responds to rising concerns about social media’s impact on young people’s mental health and development.
The changes place greater responsibility on platforms to verify ages and limit exposure to harmful content. Research increasingly links early social media use with anxiety, poor sleep, body image issues and reduced wellbeing, making this a welcome shift for many families.
However, regulation cannot replace parental guidance. Families still play a key role in helping children navigate the online world safely and confidently. This is a good time to review technology use at home, set clear boundaries and keep open conversations about digital behaviour.
By understanding these new rules, parents and carers can feel more confident supporting their children’s online safety and wellbeing. To support you further, there is a special report located on School TV. Here is the live link for quick access:

Building Strong Relationships & Supporting Positive Behaviour
Our school remains committed to ensuring staff have access to ongoing professional development in the area of wellbeing and behaviour support. Through this continued learning, our team stays informed with contemporary, evidence-based approaches to addressing behaviours of concern and supporting all learners effectively.
We are also proud to share some recent insights from our PAT Social–Emotional Wellbeing (PATSEW) data. The results highlight the exceptional relationships being built across our school. For example, 100% of our Year 2 learners responded positively to the statement, “I get along well with my teachers.” This is a wonderful reflection of the trust, connection, and mutual respect that underpin our classrooms.
We will continue to strengthen these relationships and refine our practices to ensure every learner feels safe, supported, and ready to engage in their learning each day.
