Term 4 reminders:

Welcome back to all of our students. We have another busy term of PE lessons and sporting events. We would like to remind students that in Term 4, students are required to wear their school hat for PE and sport lessons and also to bring their own drink bottle as the weather is starting to get warmer. Also, just a reminder if your child has been unwell or has an injury, please email your PE teacher so we can support your child appropriately for their PE lesson.

Division Athletics:

Today we have 13 students competing at the Division Athletics Carnival in East Burwood. CHPS would like to wish all of our competitors the best of luck! Keep an eye out for results next week!

Division T20 Cricket Finals:

Next Wednesday 14th October, our Senior Girls and Senior Boys Cricket teams will be competing in the Division Cricket Finals at Yarra Valley Grammar. CHPS would like to wish both teams the best of luck and we will post our results in next week’s newsletter!

Prep-2 House Cross Country:

The Prep – 2 House Cross Country is coming on Wednesday 28th October, Week 4. It has been wonderful to see so many students attending Running Club to help increase their fitness and prepare themselves for the distance. In order for this event to run smoothly, we require the help of volunteers to assist with course checkpoints, handing out finishing tags, lining students up etc. If you are able to assist for the morning, please email laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au. I require at least 17 volunteers and only have 4 at the moment.

Year 3 Bike Ed:

An exciting program begins next term for the year 3’s, which is Bike Ed. A compass event has been sent out to families with further information but can we please ask parents to check your child’s bike and helmet to make sure it is safe to wear and ride. We do have a set of school bikes and helmets to assist with those who may not have a bike. Can you please notify your classroom teacher if your child will require the use of a school bike and/or helmet.

We hope you are able to find some time over the holidays to ride your bike ready, for our first practical lesson in week 2. This will help build confidence in your child as the main focus of the program is about education and road safety rather than the teachers, teaching students how to ride a bike. We would greatly appreciate your support with preparing your child in being able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels.
