PYP Evaluation Visit 23rd -25th October

Last week, we were delighted to welcome our 2026 PYP Evaluation Team to our school. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many strengths of our community and share the outstanding learning, teaching, and culture that we have built together.

Throughout the visit, our staff, students, and families demonstrated the values and practices that are at the heart of who we are. The IB evaluators (Helen and Stewart) experienced firsthand the high-quality learning opportunities we provide, the strong relationships we nurture, and the genuine sense of belonging that exists across our school community.

I am very pleased to share that the evaluation outcomes were extremely positive. The visiting team recognised many of our strengths and, in particular, commended our commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity. These areas were highlighted as defining features of our school culture and reflect our belief that every child should feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

This achievement is a reflection of the collective efforts of our entire school community. Our dedicated staff, engaged students, and supportive families all play a vital role in creating the positive and inclusive environment that defines our school. We are incredibly proud of this recognition and grateful for the partnership we share with our families.

Year 6 Exhibition

The Year 6 Exhibition is an important event on our school calendar, and we look forward to welcoming families into the school on Thursday 12th November evening. The Exhibition celebrates the learning and achievements of our students and is a key component of our IB Primary Years Programme. Our Year 6 students have been working diligently on their inquiry projects, demonstrating their skills as thinkers, communicators, and inquirers.

Students are currently considering how they can ‘take action’ in response to their new learnings. Taking Action is a natural part of the Exhibition process. It enables students to voice their ideas and make informed choices, making meaningful contributions to the community.

It can be in a number of forms, such as:

  • advocacy
  • participation
  • social entrepreneurship
  • social justice
  • lifestyle choices

This year, our students are hoping to build awareness of their chosen issue over the Exhibition process.

We have two student Exhibition groups taking action by:

  1. Running a Clothing Drive with Year 4s. This is Textile Waste/Fashion group (Evan, Rusan and Isabel 6DT) who are
  2. Requesting food donations to the Glen Waverley United Church with the Poverty Group (Lachlan , Hugo, Jayden and Austin )

We extend our thanks to the Year 6 teaching team and to the many staff members who have supported students as mentors throughout this journey.

World Teachers’ Day

Today we celebrated World Teachers’ Day which is a special opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication and care our teachers show every day. Our parents generously provided a beautiful morning tea to mark the occasion, and we were treated to heartfelt speeches from our School Captains and School Council President. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a special celebration.

Diwali – 6th November

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a time to celebrate joy, hope and togetherness. It’s a beautiful reminder to welcome light into our homes and hearts and to share happiness with family and friends. Many people celebrate Diwali by lighting lamps, enjoying heavenly delicacies and spending time with loved ones.

We wish all our students, staff and families who celebrate a very Happy Diwali.
