Principal's Report

Dear Families,
It was wonderful to see everyone back at school on Monday, refreshed and ready for a busy Term 4. Heather is currently on Long Service Leave and she will return in Week 4.
GRADE 5/6 PHILLIP ISLAND CAMP
We've had good reports from the campers at Phillip Island. So far, they have visited a Heritage Farm, the Penguin Parade, Cape Woolamai and they've been surfing. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when they return. They are expected to be back between 3:30 - 4:00 pm tomorrow. The time will be confirmed via XUNO.
BOOK FAIR
The Scholastic Book Fair is on once again this year, from today until 20th October. It is set up in the spare classroom. It will be open 8:45 - 9:00 am and 3:15 - 3:45 pm. Bus travellers will be able to attend the Book Fair during the school day. Any proceeds contribute to building our library at school.
FROG BOG
Yesterday, we had a clean up of our Frog Bog, to restore it to its original state. The purpose of the Frog Bog is to allow kids to play in a natural environment which promotes imagination, problem solving, cooperation and construction, using the resources available naturally. Recently, there had been a lot of plastic such as signs, plastic twine, tape, buckets etc introduced into the space. The area had lost its natural aesthetics and had become untidy, looking more like a rubbish dump rather than a natural bush setting. We feel that it is important to encourage children to be creative and use the materials available to them in nature, rather than relying on outside sources which can have a negative impact of our bush setting and the environment. It certainly looks much better now. Thank you to the Grade 3/4s, they should be very proud of their clean up effort.
