Principal Report
Mrs Luckman
It has been a busy and exciting fortnight at IPS with plenty of learning opportunities and some special extracurricular activities.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed their self-defence lesson, and due to its popularity, we are planning to run more sessions in Term 4. Ray has generously offered three free lessons for all Inglewood students on Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at the Sports Centre, for those who would like to continue this learning outside of school.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends who recently made chicken tender wraps for the students – they were a big hit! We are so grateful for the ongoing support and involvement of our P&F.
Year 3 Camp preparation is well underway, and students are beginning to get excited. If you require assistance with camp costs, please don’t hesitate to speak with me confidentially.
Staff have been thoroughly enjoying the combined learning sessions with Bridgewater on Monday nights. Due to the success of this program, we will continue it for the first four weeks of next term. As a school, we have also been working closely on how to best implement the VTLM 2.0 in our context. Next term, we’ll be focusing on recent scientific research into how students learn best.
At this stage, we have only had two families complete the Parent Opinion Survey. This survey is vital in helping us understand how our school is travelling. It provides us with the opportunity to celebrate our successes and also identify areas where we can continue to grow and improve.
Your voice matters, and we would greatly appreciate it if more families could take a few minutes to complete the survey. The more responses we receive, the clearer the picture we gain of our school community. Please refer to UEDUCATEUS for the login.
There is already a buzz around the school as students (and staff!) get ready for Book Week costumes. We can’t wait to see the creativity on display next week.
Our Book Parade will be held at 9:00am after morning circle. Families are warmly invited to come along and enjoy the celebration.
Please note that our celebration will be held one week early this year due to staffing and calendar clashes. We are looking forward to welcoming our special guests for a delicious breakfast and some light entertainment. Please ensure your form is returned as soon as possible.
We also want to congratulate Jayne and Kym’s netball teams for making the finals, and extend our best wishes to any other students, families, or staff involved in finals season.
We have been incredibly lucky to have Mikayla and Georgie with us for the past four weeks. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication have been greatly appreciated by staff and students alike. This is their last week at IPS
In Term 3, parent–teacher interviews are optional. Parents are encouraged to reach out directly to their child’s teacher to arrange a time that suits both you and the teacher, should you wish to meet.
What a wonderful way to start the morning – watching our students working together, buzzing with laughter and joy as they created a fairy garden. Their creativity and imagination shone through as they carefully designed little spaces, shared ideas, and helped one another bring their vision to life. It was such a beautiful reminder of how much children can achieve when they collaborate, problem-solve, and let their imaginations run wild. Moments like these make our school a truly special place.
Thank you for your continued support – it makes such a difference to our school community.
