ART

Lower Junior Malcom and Lower Junior Eagan created art pieces inspired by a book about insects and other creatures. They observed the number of legs, the shapes, and used their ideas and feelings to shape their artwork. As they are beginning this artistic skill, they were able to decorate their pieces and share them with classmates, effectively communicating their observations, ideas, and emotions.
The senior class explored a range of materials and techniques in their art. They began by using pencils, followed by paint. The students also worked with blue playdough, bark, foam, googly eyes, and various other materials to create their designs. They experimented with different shading techniques, using HB pencils to transition from light to dark, adding depth and texture to their drawings.
Archer was particularly excited to try his hand at three-dimensional artwork, experimenting with materials such as beads, clay, and pipe cleaners. Using expandable foam, the students experimented with various techniques to create impressive three-dimensional pieces. Jun enjoyed working with the pipe cleaners to craft a spider. Each student referenced different bug books and explored unique ways to represent their chosen insect in their artwork.
