PRAYER
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome to Week 3. The students have well and truly settled into routines and are fully engaged in learning.
Twilight Sports
Everyone is looking forward to our annual twilight sports next week. Students have been practising and preparing for their individual events. Much of the chatter has been about the friendly competition and team spirit that always shines through at this annual event.
As always, at such events, we rely on the wonderful support of our families. If you can help in preparing the oval before the event, or cooking the sausages on the night, I ask that you please contact the office, or Justin H or Leon M.
Prep 2026 Orientation
Today we welcomed our 2026 prep students for their first of four-orientation sessions. These sessions enable the children to become acquainted with the classroom and school life and begin to understand what it means to be a student of St Philip’s.
Scholastic Book Fair
We will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair again this year. The books will be dropped off on Wednesday 5 November, the day after Melbourne Cup Day, and will be here until the following Wednesday. All parents and carers are welcome to come in to browse or purchase at drop off or pick up time. Students will attend the Book Fair as a class on one of the days.
Italian Day
We will celebrate Italian Day on Monday 1 December this year. More information will be forwarded closer to the time.
Colour Run
We will be having a Colour Run this year. It was scheduled for Friday 7 November, however we are postponing it now until Thursday 11 December.
Warm regards,
Michelle Worcester
Principal
JUMP ROPE for HEART
This year our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart – a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program by the Heart Foundation that has been running for over 40 years.
Students will be practising skipping at school and will be taught new techniques and tricks. We encourage students to also practise at home.
Our Jump Off Skipping Showcase Day will be held on Thursday 4th December at 2.30pm. Our whole school will come together to celebrate and put on a great skipping display.
We warmly welcome our school community to come along and watch the children and support the cause.
Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $111 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work. Jump Rope for Heart is a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.
To make fundraising easy we will ask for a gold coin donation from each student. All money raised will be donated to the Heart Foundation. Children are encouraged to wear a "Touch of Red".
Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!
FIRE ED Program
Learning about what to do in a "Fire Emergency" is extremely important. Our students
participated in a 2 week Fire Ed program recently. At the conclusion of the program we
were able to use the fire hose and look at the inside of a Fire Truck under close supervision from the Firemen.
Playgroup

Tuck Shop
Tuckshop is open every Friday, we are very fortunate to have our tuckshop run by parent volunteers for the students enjoyment. This would not be possible without our small team of committed volunteers showing up week after week.
Please reach out to Clara on 0449 767 020 or Angi on 0431 021 711 if you can help. We appreciate your support.
Entertainment books are another piece to our fundraising puzzle. When you sign up you receive 12 months of discounts and offers - and our school benefits - 20% of every membership purchased goes to support our school!
