DIOCESAN CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS AT BARRABA

On the previous Friday, a group of 23 students embarked on a journey to Barraba in order to participate in the Diocesan Cross Country Trials. The weather conditions were absolutely perfect, and the routes for both the 2km and 3km races closely resembled the ones our students had previously conquered during our own cross country event towards the end of last term. Our team displayed exceptional performance, with several runners securing positions within the top 20 and/or top 30 in their respective events. Notably, the majority of our runners surpassed their previous year's time and/or placement. If there existed an accolade for the school that exhibited the most spirited and supportive cheering for their teammates, it would undoubtedly have been bestowed upon us.

Congratulations are in order for Josie, who achieved 3rd place overall in the 10 Years Girls and Benji who placed 4th in the 10 Years Boys, as well as Angus and Jessica, who secured 4th place in their individual races. Jessica should be proud of herself as she came first overall in the 11 Years Girls and Angus came 5th in the last race of the day. At the awards ceremony, St Patrick's Primary were awarded  Small Schools Champions for the second consecutive year! This outstanding accomplishment truly reflected all of our team members hard work and dedication.

As a result, Josie, Benji, Angus, and Jessica have earned the opportunity to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Cross Country Trials on June 5th at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. We extend our best wishes to them for success.

We express our thanks to all the parents and grandparents who made a significant effort to ensure that their child/ren participated in these trials. Your dedication is greatly appreciated.

NSWPSSA Girls Hockey Carnival

Jessica is set to represent Polding at the NSWPSSA Hockey Carnival in Newcastle, starting on Tuesday, May 28th. We send our warmest wishes to her as she competes against the talented young female hockey players from various educational sectors across New South Wales.

DIOCESAN RUGBY UNION GALA TRIALS

As the Diocesan Rugby Trials approach, I want to take a moment to wish our players Angus, Bentley, Digby, and Tom the best of luck. The trials will be held in Tamworth on Friday, May 31st, and I am confident that our players will be great ambassadors for St Patrick's Primary.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook and it has been updated after the school swimming carnival held recently. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
