Reflection
This upcoming Sunday, four students are scheduled to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the first time. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to them during this significant occasion. As part of their preparations, a few students have inquired about the reason behind the parish's decision to commemorate this milestone on Sunday, while other parishes may not be doing so.
One of the reasons why First Holy Communion is this Sunday is that the Church is celebrating the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. This is a day of gratitude for the gift of the Eucharist.
Every time we come together for Mass, we attentively listen to the teachings of God through passages from the Bible. We offer prayers for the well-being of the world and the church, expressing gratitude to God as we partake in the Eucharist with bread and wine. Through this sacred act, we are brought closer to God and to each other, as we share in the transformed elements representing the Body and Blood of Christ. Christians have committed to observing this ritual every Sunday in remembrance of Jesus' request. These are the messages conveyed in the Mass Readings for this upcoming Sunday.
Prayer
Dear God,
By partaking in the bread and wine of the Eucharist,
we are granted a portion of the life, death, and resurrection of your son, Jesus.
May we be guided by his Holy Spirit and
directed towards the celestial feast.
We make this request through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Calling for Altar Servers
It is great to see we will have four students receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time in this Sunday. Did you know that once a child can receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion they can take part in altar serving at both of our school and parish Masses?
Monsignor Wilkes is looking out for any of our students who would like to become an altar server. Altar Servers must be Catholic and have a basic understanding of the mystery of Jesus present in the Eucharist and of the importance of prayerful reverence in their role as Altar servers.
Servers will be shown how to serve commencing in the near future during lunchtime.
A questionnaire will be sent home via Compass next week to all of the families whose children have completed the Sacrament of Holy Communion Preparation Program. If you have any questions regarding altar serving, don't hesitate to get in touch with Mr Hyatt.
