TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 6 of Term 2.

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

This week, we’ve been focusing on the theme of “Reconciliation Week and Sorry Day, helping children understand and reflect on our shared history and the value of saying sorry.

We began the week on Monday with a cultural activity called ‘Boogalah’, a traditional Indigenous ball game that encourages teamwork and physical activity. It was a fun and meaningful way to start the week and spark conversations about Indigenous culture.

On Tuesday, creativity was in full swing as the children took part in arts and crafts, colouring beautifully designed Sorry themed sheets. It was a thoughtful and engaging way for them to express their understanding through art.

Throughout the week, our afternoons have been filled with energy and excitement as the children enjoyed a variety of sports and games, including basketball, tennis, football and gaga ball.

Alongside all the action, we’ve also kept things fun and relaxed indoors with a great selection of board and table games, including Scrabble, the fishing game, Jenga, and air hockey — all of which have been a big hit with the children. Loom bands continue to be a crowd favourite, with many children enthusiastically creating colourful and creative designs during their free time.

Pupil of the Week

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Keira in PAC, for always using her initiative to help her friends during pack up time and her willingness to assist others when needed! Well done Keira! You should be very proud of yourself.

Winter Holiday Program – Bookings Now Open!

A friendly reminder to all families that bookings are now open for our exciting Winter Holiday Program starting on 7 July!

We have an action-packed schedule planned, including awesome excursions like:

  • Inflatable Fun Zone
  • Pass the Popcorn (movie day)
  • Ultimate Ninja Quest

In addition to our excursions, we’ll also be offering a variety of in-house activities and incursions, ensuring there’s something fun and engaging for every child to enjoy.

TC Tucker – This Friday!

We’re excited to let families know that TC Tucker is happening this Friday! This week, the children will have the opportunity to get hands-on in the kitchen as we cook and enjoy some delicious fried rice together.

It’s a wonderful chance for students to explore cooking skills, try new flavours, and enjoy a shared meal with friends.
