Principal's update

Hello everyone,
Hello everyone,
Here is our fourth fortnightly newsletter for the year as we end week seven of the term.
Intergenerational visits
Following a successful trial late last year, this year the year 5/6 class has continued to host intergenerational visits with a group of senior community members who travel to the school from Castlemaine and surrounding areas. During the sessions the students and visitors enjoy conversations on a wide range of topics over cups of tea and biscuits. This is a great opportunity for intergenerational connections and knoweldge sharing.
Taradale Mineral Springs Festival
Thank you to everyone who was able to help out at our festival stall with volunteering at the stall, preparing goods for sale, selling raffle tickets setting up and packing up the stall and every other way people were able to assit. Festival organisers have advised 2780 people attended the festival, which as increase an last year and is a credit to the festival organisers. Our stall was extremely successful with takings of approximately $2,000 (this may increase or decrease slightly depending on costs to be deducted or late receipts). Again thank you to everyone.
Breakfast Club
A reminder that we would love to have more volunteers help us to offer Breakfast club each day at school.
Taradale PS participates in the Breakfast Club programme operated by Food Bank Victoria. This provides the school with a range of food at no cost to provide to students for breakfast and other meals if needed. All students are eligible and welcome to attend the Breakfast Club, however we need parent or community volunteers to offer the service between 8.30 and 9.00. If you would like to assist or know more, please contact the school office.
Parents and Friends
Please refer to our Parents and Friends page for more information about this group.
We would love to have more parents and school friends involved with the group. We will hold an information session one morning in the near future to talk about what the group does to support the school. I will share details via Compass.
