Mental Health & Wellbeing Report

As previously communicated, Melton West PS has started introducing The Resilience Project to all grade levels. So far, most classes have completed 2 or 3 lessons from the program.
As part of our staged rollout of the program, we now invite all community members and stakeholders to click the link below to watch the welcome video for families, which outlines the program and its intentions.

As a member of the Melton West Primary School community, you now have access to the Resilience Projects Family Hub, where you’ll find short videos, helpful tips, and family-friendly ideas to encourage positive habits—not just for your kids, but for you as well: https://theresilienceproject.com.au/family-hub-1/
As outlined in the hub, the key concepts of the program are found in the GEM model
- Gratitude: Noticing and saying thank you for the good things, people, and places in our lives.
- Empathy: Understanding how others feel and seeing things from their point of view.
- Mindfulness: Being aware of what’s happening around us and paying attention to the present moment.
- Emotional Literacy: Learning to recognise and name our feelings, and finding ways to manage them.
There’s also a PDF attached with more details about the GEM model.
We will keep you updated on the program in each partner in learning newsletter, as well as provide additional resources, programs, and opportunities to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students and the wider school community.
If you have any questions regarding The Resilience Project, please contact the office to organise a time to meet with me.
Thanks for your continued support
Mr Egan.
