Year 2 - Newsletter

Dear Year 2 parents & guardians,

The term is flying by! It’ll be school holidays again before we know it. 

What we’ve been up to in Year 2:

• MATHS: we just started our unit on patterns and algebra and are doing lots of work with numbers and patterns 
• LITERACY: 
  • Continuing to revise our Stage 7 Little Learners phonemes (sounds - oral) and graphemes (letters that represent the sounds - written)
  • Exploring recount writing 
• INQUIRY:
  • Bundoora Farm excursion: The students had such a great day and the behaviour was exceptional. Thank you to all the grown ups who came along - much appreciated! Lots of learning occurred and the excitement of the first bus trip was high here in Year 2!
  • Grandparent letters: keep these coming in as you receive them at home. We love sharing these with the class and learning about what life was like when the grandparents were young. These are definitely a highlight in the classroom.

Reminders:

• Week 9 is planning week so specialists do not run as normal. Monday 23rd March is Year 2 planning day
• Year 2 Olden Days Dress Up Day: Friday 27th March (event live on Compass)
• Thursday 2nd April: Last day Term 1 (2:30pm finish)
