Leadership Report

Term 3, Week 7

Hello Williamstown North Primary School Community,

I’m delighted to introduce myself as Olivia Atanasovska, and I have the privilege of joining Williamstown North Primary School as Acting Principal for the next four weeks.

I am the substantive Principal of Ascot Vale West Primary School and have worked in education across Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. I also spent five years working as an Independent Education Consultant in New York, supporting schools through coaching, mentoring and professional learning, particularly in literacy, curriculum development, data-informed practice and effective teaching. Prior to becoming a Principal, I held Assistant Principal roles at Jennings Street School and Newport Gardens Primary School, with a strong focus on school improvement, teaching practice and building strong learning communities.

Interestingly, more than ten years ago I was also a Year 5/6 classroom teacher, so it has been wonderful getting back into classrooms, meeting students and seeing the great learning happening across the school.

Although I am only here for four weeks, I want families to know that I have a genuine and invested commitment to Williamstown North Primary School during my time here. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time so far and have already appreciated how welcoming the students, staff and families have been. I’m looking forward to working alongside the leadership team and staff and contributing as much as I can over the coming weeks.

And what a busy few weeks we have ahead! There is plenty happening across the school, including the School Musical, Poetry Night, Maths Open Afternoon and 2027 Prep Transition Program. I’m looking forward to getting involved, meeting more of our families and celebrating everything that makes WNPS such a vibrant community.

And finally… don’t forget to dress up this Friday! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone get into the spirit and joining in the fun.
